The Drive to Buck Rock Lookout, Kings Canyon/Sequoia
This drive begins in Kings Canyon National Park and takes you into the Sequoia National Forest for the drive up to Buck Rock Lookout. No, the parking spot doesn’t have a great view, but the drive up and back is quite spectacular, and maybe it will help you know whether your car can handle this rough road.

I made this trip in June 2018. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras – one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).
