Scenic Drive from Gary to Indiana Dunes and Michigan City, Indiana: US 12
Here’s a look at the drive from Gary, Indiana to Michigan City, Indiana. I followed Interstate 90 briefly, then took US 12 into Indiana Dunes National Park, and on to Michigan City. For sunset, I decided to skip the $8 parking fee in Michigan City and returned to Indiana Dunes, which to be truthful, wasn’t all that spectacular.
I made this trip in March, 2020, shortly before the world went crazy and we couldn’t go anywhere.
