Miami to Florida City on the Palmetto Expressway, Don Shula Exwy.
Here’s a look at the drive from Miami to Florida City, on the Palmetto Expressway, Don Shula Expressway, and Ronald Reagan Florida Turnpike Extension. I made this drive in September, 2018, starting out near the Miami Airport Area. The drive begins as I get on the Palmetto Expressway, and head south towards the Florida Keys and the southern tip of the state. I took the Don Shula Expressway over to the Florida Turnpike, which continues the rest of the way to Florida City and Homestead, Florida, the gateway to the Florida Keys, where the turnpike ends at US Highway 1.
The drive from Miami to Florida City was surprisingly quick, but did require some tolls, as do most highways in the Miami area.
