A Drive around Cedar Key, the Old Florida, Gulf Coast Dashcam

On the Gulf coast, near the Big Bend of the Florida peninsula you’ll find one last remnant of the past, a final glimpse of what a trip to Florida used to be like. Cedar Key is often battered by hurricanes, but it hangs in there, and manages to hold onto its Old Florida feel, thanks to its remote location at the end of the road, State Road 24, west of Gainesville.

This drive takes you all around Cedar Key. I think I hit almost every road. And yes, you’ll see some places two or three times. Don’t worry about exactly where you are. Just enjoy this glimpse of the real Florida.

I made this trip in October 2018.
