A Drive Around the University of Georgia in Athens, then South

If you want to avoid the interstates and the congestion around Atlanta, here’s a route that really gets you around the city. I started with a drive around the University of Georgia campus in Athens, then headed south of US 441 and Georgia 83, then US 23 through Madison, Monticello, Juliette (of Fried Green Tomatoes fame), and ending at Wesleyan Hills, just outside of Macon, near Interstate 75.

I made this trip in August-September 2019.
